Sweeter words are rarely spoken when a mom books with me and says “we want something DIFFERENT.”
“Something that screams US.”
Something that doesn’t make the kids feel like they have to be anyone other than WHO THEY ARE.
That, my friends, is music to my ears.
I met with this awesome family at the end of March in The Gulch. It was a Sunday evening, and while there are always plenty of people around, it didn’t feel like all eyes were on us. In fact, it was lovely. We took a nice stroll around some of my favorite ‘backdrops’ and took the architecture, sights and smells of all the amazing restaurants in the area.
I couldn’t even make it out of the parking garage without taking a few shots. They do serious like the cover of a rock band album, so that was kinda fun 😉
And sibling dynamics? Being a mom of five myself, I totally appreciated every one of them.
These kids are super cool, super fly, and super special. I really enjoyed talking to them about each of their special gifts and talents. And I love how different they are, and how different their hobbies and activities are. Another thing I can embrace!
From basketball, to music, to hanging out with friends….even some competitive dance thrown in the mix… these kids brought their personalities with them and as a result, I love how it all transpired onto my camera. Perfect memories of them captured as they are, right now. <3
And of course….all of that takes a toll on the wallet…. am I right? Hahahaha. But they wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Speaking of ‘they’… how cute are THEY?!? Parents, I urge you to get in the frame just the two of you sometimes. It’s all about your kiddos, but it all started with you.
I can’t stress enough how much fun this shoot was for me. Not only are they an amazing family, but I just can’t stress enough how much better a session is when everyone is allowed to be themselves. There were no outfits that made anyone feel uncomfortable. No crazy props, no fussy anything. My favorite kind of shoot. Just a family being a family. (while waiting on their album cover to drop? hahahaha. I couldn’t resist)
Thanks for a fantastic session, guys! I hope it’s one that is cherished for many years to come!
